The Lindenwood Homes Association (LHA) covers the properties within the area bounded by Middlefield Road, Marsh Road, Bay Road and Ringwood Avenue in the Town of Atherton, CA. There are currently 490 addresses within that area. Most properties are approximately one acre in size.

The LHA was established in 1945 as a voluntary organization composed of residents of Lindenwood who were interested in maintaining the desirable physical quality of life which they enjoyed in one of the most beautiful suburban areas of the world.

We are a 501(c)4 tax-exempt “social welfare” organization. As such, we are not a charitable organization, so dues payments and contributions to LHA are not considered to be tax deductible.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the association is open to all residents and property owners in Lindenwood and is voluntary. We ask that residents consider payment of nominal annual dues (currently $40 per year).  To help cover continued increased costs we have added a “Supporting Member” dues category for those who are willing to pay more than the standard dues.  The recommended level for supporting members is $80 or more annually.  Dues reminders are sent the early part of each year.

FOR THE BENEFIT OF LINDENWOOD…

The LHA has undertaken such activities as:

  • Regular employment of a gardening service to maintain the public areas within and surrounding Lindenwood
  • Maintenance of Lindenwood street-side historical artifacts such as our neighborhood entry gates on Middlefield Road and Ringwood Avenue.
  • Providing workshops and information to help residents improve the safety and security of their homes.
  • Organizing and coordinating Lindenwood disaster preparedness efforts to provide emergency communications and assistance, and to encourage residents to have enough food, water, medications and other emergency supplies on hand to sustain them for up to 7 days in the event of a disaster such as a major earthquake.
  • Representing residents before city and county officials concerning matters of particular concern to our area.
  • Offering social events.  Our Annual Meeting in late summer or early fall is a good chance for old and new residents to meet and to inform the Board of Directors of their concerns.
  • Distributing a neighborhood newsletter by mail several times a year

ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Activities of the Lindenwood Homes Association are guided by a nine-member Board of Directors.  Directors serve staggered three-year terms – three are elected at each Annual Meeting.  Board members are drawn from the Lindenwood community.  Please let us know if you are interested in serving on the Board. Officers of the association are elected by the Directors. Your Board welcomes suggestions which will help it take appropriate action in safeguarding the interests of the community where such activity is within the scope of the association.  This is YOUR association – your voluntary contribution each year is essential for continuance of its work.
